Middle School Youth Group is for students in 6th-8th grades.
Our goal is for students to discover they are known and loved by God. We look to create safe, fun environments where students can deepen their understanding of God, explore who God created them to be, connect with their peers, and learn about the church and their role in it.
The middle school years are full of excitement and change as students transition to adolescence. Our ministry partners with parents in navigating the twists and turns of preteen development by providing helpful resources throughout the year.
During the academic year, we get together to hang out, play games, and enjoy some snacks on Friday nights. We close out the night with a brief message, worship, and small groups that are organized by grade and gender. We also have special events like gym nights, a winter retreat, and a summer service trip! Until Highrock reopens, we will continue to meet up online during the school year!
Twice a semester we typicallly diverge from the normal rhythm of youth group and rent out gym space at Pierce Elementary School (85 Park Avenue Extension, Arlington MA). It's a fun night for students to decompress in the midst of a busy semester and connect to one another through games, crafts, and pizza. We look forward to resuming these gatherings when Highrock reopens!
Deep Freeze is our annual winter retreat where we take our Middle School Students (6th - 8th grade) for a weekend to Camp Berea. It's a weekend filled with tubing, games, cabin time, good food, high-energy worship, and tons of space to build connections. Deep Freeze is the highlight of the year for many of our students and continues to be a catalyst for deeper connections for our Youth Group. Given the current conditions, we have not yet made plans for 2021.
We have several classes for middle schoolers on Sundays during the service.
