Praying to Know the Heart of God

Highrock Church
Feb 24, 2019

Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. (Hebrews 13:20-21)

This week we are praying to see and know more of God’s heart. Scripture reveals that God, the giver of peace and the ultimate Reconciler through his Son, is able to provide all we need in order to complete his work and please him. In this time of prayer and meditation, invite God into this discernment process and conversation as we continue:

Prayer to Know God's Heart

Lord Jesus, we seek your heart and your will for this church. We pray to know your heart for the Kingdom, and for strength to carry out your desires. We rest in the assurance that you will equip us for your work. As we listen for your guidance, we affirm that you are able to move through us, whichever path we take, to bring honor and joy to you. We ask for the strength, wisdom, and opportunity to act in accordance with your will. Teach us how to serve your Kingdom greater in this choice.

Reflection Questions

  1. Where do you sense the Lord is working through the body of Christ at Highrock Arlington in these days? How are you involved in God’s work?
  2. In thinking about the vision of the church going forward, what opportunities for the kingdom of God might a new building open for the church?
  3. What do you sense are the needs and issues that God is drawing us to address among us as a church? In Arlington? In Boston? In our connection to the world?
